Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram are doubles champions of the fourth edition of Serbia Open.
The Israeli third-seeded combination defeated German/Swedish duo of Martin Emmrich and Andreas Siljestrom 4-6, 6-2, 10-6 in 1 hour and 32 minutes to capture their 15th tour-level title together.
Contesting their 28th ATP final, Erlich and Ram lost the opening set, but hit back to claim the second, before clinching victory in the decisive match tie-break.
They won 250 ATP ranking points and € 20,120.
"We're very happy to get our first title of the season," Ram said. "It's our first clay-court title together on clay, so that's a relief to finish a tough week by winning the title. We're climbing slowly and slowly back to the top where we want to be."
Emmrich and Siljestrom upset the no.2 seeds Scott Lipsky and Rajeev Ram in the semi-finals. Emmrich was playing in his first career ATP World Tour final and Siljestrom in his second final. |
